Waken The Storm Minis - Part 1

I've been working on "The Sun Never Sets" miniature range and a large table version of the Boxer seige of thePeking Legations, so I have been remiss in posting anything recently. So, for today, I have decided to visit a still unpublished figure line that I have made for my "The Sword and the Flame" fntasy variant, "Waken The Storm". This is a line I started several years back, but have not shared before.

Human Levies - These are typical early medieval folks that would make up the call for a general levy.

Nordic Warriors - These men are clad in attire similar to that of Viking raiders, though the rectangular shield is not typical.

Knights - Geared toward 11th and 12th century equippage, these fellows wear ail and a variety of helmets.

Mounted Humans - Again, more toward the 11th and 12th century harness, the three right figures wear mail while the left figure is unarmored.

Cynocephali - These "dog's heads" are dressed as Germanic tribesmen.

Halflings - What would a fantasy game be without these short statured fellows.

Sciopodes- are a humanoid species that have a single large foot extending from a leg centered in the middle of their bodies. The Greeks call them shade-footed ones because when it is hot they lie on their backs on the ground and are shaded by the great size of their foot. This habit could be a problem in battle.

Ipotane - In Greek mythology, Ipotanes were a species of humanoids with the legs, hindquarters, tail, and ears of a horse. Hippopodes are another name for them.

Elves - The inspiration for these chaps was the Errol Flynn classic "The Adventures of Robin Hood".

Dwarves - Here is another race inspired by nordic tradition.

Most of the figures here are not my work. Instead, this photo shows a comparison of 3d printed figures, scaled down to 15mm with some of my sculpts. Mine are the back rank. What do you think of mixing printed and cast figures?

I hope you have enjoyed a look at this "once and future" project.

Cheers!
