The Sun Never Sets - 15mm figures for warfare around the British Empire - Egyptians

Having started with the Dervish, I thought it would be proper to do the Egyptians second. The Egyptians are one of the most versatile armies. They can be used against the Dervish, with the British against the Dervish, or against the British.

So, here is what we have:

 Egyptian Regular Infantry

Egyptian Sudanese Infantry

Egyptian Regular Cavalry

Egyptian Regular Camelry

Bashi Bazooks - Foot

Bashi Bazooks - Mounted

Mountain Gun on camels

With a few exceptions, the rifles, swords, and pistols held by the mounted troops are 3D prints. I will update this post with photos of the dismounted mountain gun once I get the pictures taken.

Please let me know what you think and thank you for visiting my blog!

The Sun Never Sets - 15mm figures for warfare around the British Empire - Madhists

I have been a fan of "The Sword and the Flame" since the mid 80's. The game is simple yet elegant and it never fails to provide an entertaining experience.  "The Sun Never Sets" is a companion set of rules designed to create a campaign thar spans the far reaches of the empire. The issue with this global campaign is that there are numerous armies required to operate with and against the legions of Empire. This issue includes a dearth of some of the army types needed.

To remedy this situation, I have decided to create a line of figures for each theater of action in  "The Sun Never Sets". To date, I have completed (I use the term loosely, as I always seem to find something to add) the Dervish (both Riverine and Fuzzy Wuzzy), Egyptians (regulars, Sudanese, and Bashi Bazooks), Pathans, Regular Afghans (infantry and Cavalry), Zulus, Abor (for the N.E. frontier of India), Boers, and several varieties of British (Infantry, Cavalry, Lancers, Highlanders, Naval Brigade, Camel Corps, Colonial Horse, and all sorts of transport). I have started on the Indian troops of the Raj (I currently have Infantry, Gurkhas, and some cavalry), Burmese, and Chinese. In the wings are the Ashanti, Abyssinians, and Maori.

With that, I would like to start previewing the work done so far. To begin with, I present to you the Dervish:

Riverine Ansar Infantry

Ansar Cavalry

Ansar Camelry

Beja Tribesmen (Fuzzy Wuzzies)

Beja Cavalry

Beja Camelry

Dervish Artillery

Dervish Command
I do  have two mounted leaders and some chainmail cavalry, which I have not photographed yet. I will update this page as soon as I get some pictures.

The flags were designed by Eric Cox and are available now at The Virtual Armchair General. The Krupp field gun is my design for 3D printing and will be available from The Virtual Armchair General on or before the release of "The Sun Never Sets" figure line.
