I have been a fan of "The Sword and the Flame" since the mid 80's. The game is simple yet elegant and it never fails to provide an entertaining experience. "The Sun Never Sets" is a companion set of rules designed to create a campaign thar spans the far reaches of the empire. The issue with this global campaign is that there are numerous armies required to operate with and against the legions of Empire. This issue includes a dearth of some of the army types needed.
To remedy this situation, I have decided to create a line of figures for each theater of action in "The Sun Never Sets". To date, I have completed (I use the term loosely, as I always seem to find something to add) the Dervish (both Riverine and Fuzzy Wuzzy), Egyptians (regulars, Sudanese, and Bashi Bazooks), Pathans, Regular Afghans (infantry and Cavalry), Zulus, Abor (for the N.E. frontier of India), Boers, and several varieties of British (Infantry, Cavalry, Lancers, Highlanders, Naval Brigade, Camel Corps, Colonial Horse, and all sorts of transport). I have started on the Indian troops of the Raj (I currently have Infantry, Gurkhas, and some cavalry), Burmese, and Chinese. In the wings are the Ashanti, Abyssinians, and Maori.
With that, I would like to start previewing the work done so far. To begin with, I present to you the Dervish:
