Italian Ships

As promised, I am posting a bunch of ship photos this time. This time, it is the Italians. Most are for the "Contested Seas" / "Naval Mania" era (post 1880) but there are a few that will fit in the "Ironclads" time frame. As usual, the STL files of these models are or will be available on Wargame Vault.

Italia and Lapanto - What I like about these ships:

guns and no armor. What's not to love?

Affondatore - This is one for Ironclads! She was at Lissa.

Dogali - she was the first warship equipped with triple-expansion engines.

Maria Pia (as built) - This is as she would have been at Lissa.

Palestro - Old before her time, she was not completed until 1875. I guess they lost their motivation for finishing her after Lissa.

Ruggiero di Lauria - Thinking armor might be good to protect your...

Guns, armor was added to this class.

Giovanni Bausan - Another fine Italian cruiser.

Benedetto Brin - I love the funnel layout of this ship.

Puglia - Another Italian cruiser. The bow of Puglia has been preserved at the Vittoriale degli italiani museum.

Carlo Alberto - A cruiser that served on the Far East station.

Marco Polo - And, where was she stationed? The Far East, of course.

And that will do it for this entry. I hope you like them.

Happy gaming!
